The Prime Minister of Cabo Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, presided over the inauguration of the extension works of the Santa Maria WWTP on Isla de la Sal (Cabo Verde) on 30 November.
The town of Santa Maria continues to make progress in the development of the integrated water cycle, which began in 2017, with the implementation of the expansion of the sanitation system with the execution of a new EE in Ponta Sinó, the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant, and a new stage of production of ultra-filtered reclaimed water and reverse osmosis for irrigation.
The works at the Santa Maria WWTP enabled the expansion of its treatment capacity from an average flow of 2,500 m3/day to 3,750 m3/day.
