About the project
The “Central Hidroeléctrica de Melo” project aims to harness the waters derived from the matrix channel of the Association towards Estero Caliboro. The type of plant is flowing, and it is dimensioned by a flow of 13.5 sqm/s, with an installed power of 2.8 MW. It has a low-rise diversion work and a conventional water-catchment work that feeds a trapezoidal section, 3,170m-long channel, which connects with a loading chamber. The water is transported to the engine chamber through a forced pipeline of DN2400 and 850 m long.
